Ed McMahon, An Entertainment Giant Has Left Us!

Ed McMahonVeteran TV Personality Ed McMahon has died today on June 23rd in Los Angeles, California. He was 86 years old. McMahon suffered from multiple complications including Bone Cancer. Edward Leo Peter McMahon Jr was a widely loved and respected American Comedian, game show host, announcer and TV personality. He will certainly be missed!

Ed Mcmahon was born in Detroit to Eleanor and Edward Leon McMahon. He was raised in Lowell, Massachusetts.During World War II, McMahon served as a fighter pilot in the United States Marine Corps. Ed Mcmahon was also sent to Korea in He flew unarmed O-1E Bird Dogs on 85 tactical air control and artillery spotting missions.

Ed McMahon is probably most noted for the 30 years he spent with the Tonight Show!  Remember the famous long drawn out “Heeeeere’s Johnny”!  Mcmahon and Johnny Carson met for the first time and worked together as announcer and host on the daytime game show Who Do You Trust which aired between 1957 and 1962. I remember my grandmother used to watch this show often and loved both gentleman dearly. Johnny Carson was always considered to be the shy one and it was his show! Mcmahon was the lively extrovert and always full of energy. The loss of this man is truly a dark spot on history! But his memory shall go on for many years to come.

Ed Mcmahon has searved to help many people launch their radio and television careers. He’s even worked with Dick Clark hosting the American TV Series TV Bloopers And Practical Jokes from 1982 till 1998.

 

Ed McMahon was a giant in the entertainment business and the world.
