Dare To Be Contagious

by , under Blogging

yawnFor the record, I’m not talking about spreading your cold and sickness to everyone you come in contact with. Instead I want your online business to become contagious….kind of like a yawn.

When I first started writing this blog, I wanted to be like everybody else who wrote blogs for a living. I tried to design the look and feel of my site similar to other bloggers who were doing extremely well for themselves.

I couldn’t have been more wrong!

To be contagious you have to be different. If you want your business to go viral you have to be the first one to wear the “stoned washed jeans”. Some of you from the 80′s can most certainly appreciate and remember the popularity of those pants. It wasn’t long after they came in style that it seemed the whole world was wearing them……including me….lol.

It’s important to be unique.

I’m finding that it’s easy to preach it but much more difficult to do it.

Some of you are just now starting your online businesses and others may still be in the planning mode.

Please take my advice and use it to your advantage.

Strive to be different. Do something nobody has done yet.

Dare to be contagious!

Free One Way Backlinks=Serious Targeted Website Traffic

by , under Website Traffic Generation

by: Dan Waggoner

website trafficI’ve recently found the most innovative way of building an incredible amount of Google safe yet free one way backlinks while at the same time driving serious amounts of targeted traffic to your website. Generally speaking, when I find a new program I will usually just put a link on my site and let everybody check it out but ever so often I come across a true gem that I really need to elaborate on.

If you visit a site by the name of FreeTrafficSystem.com you can read and learn more about it but I will try to give you the basics. The word “free” really stood out to me. Who doesn’t like free?

Basically all you need to do is register at their website, set up your keywords and enter your website or blog address. Then write some articles for other bloggers to use on their site. You can pick the niche and keywords that you want to target and get up to 120 one way backlinks to your site for each article. They have thousands of bloggers waiting for new articles with valuable content.

Get enough targeted backlinks and it will drive your own site to the top of the page for Google, Yahoo and Bing. The top of the page is where you want to be to get the most visitors and in return earn more money.

What’s more is they have a two tier affiliate program you can sign up for to earn money and get even more backlinks when you send people to the site with your affiliate link.

You would only get paid if the visitor signs up for the PRO Membership account but you will continue to get free backlinks from any member you refer who actively participates and writes articles for the network to use. The PRO members can get up to 720 targeted backlinks per article and also enjoys quite a few more benefits like priority support and moderation, access to exclusive SEO info, discounts on special services and so forth.

For those of you with business websites or blogs who are lacking in the targeted traffic and backlink department, I highly recommend checking into this as soon as you can. This company has impressed me enough to join and even write a blog post about them. They have a huge network, very informative “how to videos” and seem to really have their act together.

Best Wishes!

Watch Out for Web 2.0

by , under Business, Internet Marketing

I’m guessing a lot of you have seen the term Web 2.0 here and there when you’re surfing the Internet. Keep your eyes open because I’ve got a crazy feeling this is going to be huge. I’ve been putting off learning much about it simply because I’m human. I sometimes get overwhelmed by all the information.

Wilkepedia describes the term Web 2.0 as being commonly associated with web applications which facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web.

Basically it’s social media. Web 2.0 allows the users to interact with other users or to change website content. The Internet has become so widely used by bloggers and other enthusiasts that surfers have really become massively interested in participating.

The bottom line is that surfers are really digging being able to interact with the site owner as well as the other members on the site! You want to talk about building a website for music fans? This is it if I’ve ever seen it! I could also see this as being awesome for somebody interested in starting their own social networking site such as Facebook and Twitter or something of that nature.

Guess who just recently saw this firestorm coming? No it wasn’t me…..bummer! It was Ken Envoy and his extremely ever popular visionary crew over at SiteBuildIt. I can not put into words how much I have learned from this company.

I know I talk about him a lot on this blog but that’s only because of the amount of experience and forethought this man and his people have. They never cease to amaze me!

I don’t currently own a SiteBuildIt site but that’s only because I am the type of person that has to finish one job before I start another. I feel like I have to devote all my time to this site until I am satisfied with what I have accomplished here. I know it may be silly but that’s just me. Anyway you can bet your rear end that when I do feel a complete sense of accomplishment with Modern Day Peasants that I will be building a new site with SiteBuildIt 2.0.

Ken is so on top of this kind of stuff. Even if you’re not ready for Web 2.0 yet you can still sample some of the SiteBuildIt modules here for free.

Best Wishes

Thanks To All Of You & a Site Update

by , under Everything Else

by: Dan Waggoner

Today I want to take some time out to give my warmest thank you to all of you who have stuck around and continue visiting the site. I genuinely get an overwhelming sense of joy and accomplishment just knowing that there are really folks out there who come here to visit, read and learn. It is also my intention to give you some updates on the progress of Modern Day Peasants. I figure since you are showing your dedication to the site I should let you know how we’re doing and what’s coming up on the horizon. The site currently gets about 300 visits a day. Roughly 45 to 50 of those are new visitors who have never been here before. This is a really good thing! It means that some of you are talking and spreading the word and I really appreciate your efforts. The other 250 visits per day are primarily regular visitors. Most of you are from the United States but we also have people stopping in from other places in the world such as Ireland, Poland, Russia, China and The United Kingdom just to name a few. I use a tool called Google Analytics to Monitor the incoming website traffic. It lets me know things like how many visitors per day, where they are from and how long they stay around and visit. Don’t worry it doesn’t give me any private details about you. I’m not looking for that kind of information anyway but I do need to be able to track the progress of the site and that’s why I use it.

Another great sign from the increased traffic means that you guys are finding the site useful. This is the most gratifying part about it. I mean, I started this thing like a bumbling idiot just barely knowing what I was doing with the intentions of teaching a few how to make some extra dollars per month but it has grown into so much more. I feel like I really have an avenue or an outlet, if you will, to help a lot of people and that’s a great feeling.

So all I can say at this point is thanks again and hang around for the ride. I can’t mention too much right now because it will ruin the effects but just last week we partnered with many different people and companies to create lots more exciting opportunities. I will be posting those opportunities in the coming weeks and months starting tomorrow. You can also follow Modern Day Peasants on Twitter if you care to. Sometimes I post different thoughts, trials and new helpful products there as well. Many people tell me I should put my picture on the front page of this blog but I have opted not to do that. If you want to see my ugly mug you can see it in the “about” section above. Please don’t be afraid to leave your comments either. If you have ideas then by all means put them out there so others can gain from them. It’s ok even if you just want to say hello. All bloggers love comments from their visitors and friends.

Best Wishes to All!
