Free Internet Marketing Tips
Since just about everything in the world of Internet marketing comes with a cost I thought it might be friendly if I offer some free Internet marketing tips.
I have seen the information I’m about to tell you sell for as much as $97.00 on the Internet. Granted, the product is always wrapped up nicely with pretty bows and bells with whistles but it’s still the same information in condensed format. I assume some online marketers figure if somebody is going to be silly enough to pay it then they might as well be silly enough to charge an astronomical price for it.
The business of Internet marketing is tough enough as it is to find success. You shouldn’t have to pay through the nose just to get started.
Later…I’ll tell you the other reason why I titled this article “Free Internet Marketing Tips”.
But right now I want to share with you the free Internet marketing tips I wish I would have found when I first started and there’s only three of them.
Seriously…..If you’re starting this venture on your own, these are the three most important.
If they don’t scare you off then I’d say you might be ready to start your online business.
First – Do Your Homework - Proper research will save you a ton of money and a ton of time trying to fix mistakes that could have been avoided. Regardless if you plan on selling a product of your own or affiliate products you really need to understand the competition that will be involved in your field or niche. You can begin to study certain keywords using a tool such as the free Google AdWords Keyword Tool. It will help you narrow down the kind of traffic a certain idea, niche or keyword gets on a monthly basis. Because of the nature and sheer size of the Internet you will inevitably make some mistakes but nothing compares to proper research. If you study what your competition is doing right…. it will give you an immediate and solid edge over the 95% of people who blindly jump into Internet marketing without proper research.
Second…Treat Your Internet Marketing Business as a Business – It must be done this way. Don’t assume you can dive in halfheartedly and earn a fortune. It doesn’t work like that. To be successful at selling products or anything else online you need to cross over to the real world of business. This means you need to find a way to brand your business and build it up. You should always try to make professional decisions rather than impulse decisions. What’s good for you may not be so good for your business. Also….It may be quite sometime before you start to actually see a profit. To see quicker profits you might have to spend money on your Internet marketing business. If this is the case be sure you research any and all products before you purchase them.
Generally speaking…. and especially online….if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!
Finally – Become an SEO Expert – It’s pretty simple to build your own website with today’s web hosting companies. Most of them have made it as simple as copy and paste. It’s no longer necessary to have a college degree in computer programming and coding. It is an absolute must, however, to learn how to promote your website. By forcing yourself to become an SEO (search engine optimization) expert you will learn the steps necessary to draw interested individuals to your online business. A niche with low competition and a properly optimized site for search engines will be the ultimate factor deciding if your Internet marketing business will be successful or not. It can mean the difference between your site getting 10 visitors a day or 10,000 visitors a day. Which do you think is better? Of course you want the 10,000 visitors a day. Everybody does! Just know that in order to accomplish that you’re going to need to learn everything there is to know about good SEO. ….and what’s more…..you’ll need to keep up with it’s ever changing rules of the industry.
Ok…so that’s my three free Internet marketing tips.
I told you earlier I would share with you the other reason I titled this article “Free Internet Marketing Tips.”
It’s because the keyword “free internet marketing tips” is a very inviting title with a relatively low monthly traffic count as compared to other keywords in the same field. This means less competition for me to get most of the monthly traffic for that particular phrase.
I mean….you found this article easily right?
Think about it.
How Long Does It Take For Online Affiliates To Make Money
How long till I get paid was the first question I had also when I first started learning about affiliate sales and Internet Marketing. Everybody wants to make money so this is an understandable question.
The answer, however, is a little more complicated than that.
There are many variables that will ultimately decide how long it will take a person to start making money as an online affiliate for any company.
For Instance…Is your website designed to be profitable and easy to navigate? Do you even have a website and a blog? Is it just you working alone or do you have a team of people working with you? How much money do you have to invest? If you have little money to invest in your business, are you at least willing to invest a serious amount of your own quality time? Do you have plenty of targeted website traffic?
Does your site make it available for your customers and visitors to opt-in to your newsletter?
As you can probably tell, I could go on with the questions!
Now lets instead discuss facts.
The fact is that most affiliates, up to 97%, fail to ever make money with affiliate marketing or any other type of Internet Marketing. This is because they are working by themselves and lack the personal commitment it takes to develop a real working knowledge of online marketing.
Another fact……As with any other serious business, monetary gain will take place when relationships are built and trust is earned. You can build those relationships and that trust very fast with disposable money and extra people or you can build it slower with less money and on your own.
Either way…. it must be built!
Now, more than ever before in history, the business of Internet Marketing and online affiliate sales can be extremely lucrative for those who are willing to gain the knowledge and put forth the effort required to be successful at it .
Instead of asking “how long does it take for online affiliates to make money”……. try telling yourself who cares if it takes 2 months or 2 years.
Just know that if you’re committed to what you do and also enjoy your work while remaining sure to keep it about helping others you can’t go wrong.
Any online affiliate or Internet Marketer who can grasp that will earn droves of money over time.
Best Wishes!
Supposed Internet Marketing Guru John Chow Says “He Played Me”
by: Dan Waggoner
Yesterday the supposed infamous Internet Marketing Guru John Chow sent me a retaliatory email saying “he played me”. For those of you who are unaware of what’s going on, I will explain after the email. Here’s the email he sent:
Oh please. The majority of readers are not commentators. Most comment just to get traffic to their own blogs. I knew going in the post would create a bunch of comments, good and bad. That’s why I posted it. Trying to think of a way out? Funny! If anything, I’ll post this email you sent just to show how very little you do know about Internet marketing. But you’ve been played already and will be forgotten by tomorrow.
Seriously, write about stuff you do know and are passionate about. You’ll do a lot better and might even make some money at it. John
Here is the email I sent him prior to his response:
Hi John, It looks like the majority of your readers think you are a big A-Hole for
doing this. I know right now you’re trying to think of a way out of this. I will give
you another chance and give you a way out if you’re interested in hearing it.
Regards, Dan Waggoner
Ok…so this is what it all comes down to. A few days ago I sent John and quite a few other high profile Internet Marketing people an email asking if they would be interested in endorsing my new eBook. I also mentioned that I might be looking for some affiliates to help sell the book. Some of them were happy to help, others weren’t interested, some sent automated responses and others didn’t respond at all. This prompted me to write the previous post to this one titled “Advice For Internet Marketing Newbies”. I didn’t specifically name anybody in the post but John may have read it and taken it personally, I’m really not sure. Rather than me telling you exactly how the email I sent to John was written you can read it on his blog post “email of the week”.
He posted the private email for the whole world to read. From what I understand it really torques Big John off when a small time blogger or fellow Internet Marketer tries to get his help or advice.
The interesting thing is that I used to read his blog. When he’s not being a complete arrogant butthead, he actually does know what he’s doing. This is why I requested his help to begin with.
Instead he ended up alienating one of his readers and possibly more. You will notice in his email to me how he really feels about his readers and potential customers. They’re all just a bunch of pawns trying to get traffic from his blog. He only cares about their money, not them!
While I understand the concept of drawing traffic to a blog and possibly trying to get higher PageRank, I certainly appreciate every comment I get. I’m also, however, willing to bet that most of the people commenting on his blog are regular readers.
I personally find it funny that a guy who is supposedly making millions of dollars in the business of Internet Marketing would be interested in “playing” a relative new comer asking for some advice or help. I mean… does he feel threatened or what?
Just for the record John, and I’m sure you’re reading this, it may only be 7 months now that I’ve been blogging but I have a little over 2 years of research invested in Internet Marketing. I believe this more than qualifies me to write a book about the field. It’s obvious that you think you’re an Internet God or something but that doesn’t mean other people don’t study the business too! I also know this post will get you even more visitors to your blog but I could care less. I’m not like you John, nor do I ever care to be.
Needless to say, I have no interest in taking this any further unless he continues his games. It’s not fair to those of you who read this blog on a regular basis. I just couldn’t let him get away with the blatant disrespect of my privacy.
I guess the underlying point is still the same though. Don’t ever become too big for your own good. Always try to help people out if you can, especially if they are potential clients of yours. As I stated in the previous post, it’s ok to learn from the Guru but don’t ever become the Guru, especially one like John Chow. Don’t go and start “playing” the very same people who serve to help make you what you are.
Best Wishes
