How to Really Get Serious Website Traffic
I’m guessing you clicked on this title because you want to know how to really get serious amounts of website traffic.
Follow the directions of this article and you can have access to all the traffic in the universe for free.
I will try to be brief so follow along.
I have been doing this for over a year now. I’ve started new websites since the inception of the one you are now reading.
I’ve done a serious amount of social marketing on different social websites such as Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious, Facebook, Squidoo and the likes.
I know what it takes to get serious website traffic.
I’ve written hundreds of articles for my sites and other sites like eHow, EzineArtciles, GoArticles, ArticlesBase.com and many others.
If you are looking for a way to increase search engine traffic and actually profit from advertising or possibly earn a living selling a product then start building a brand new site at this very moment. Build it using only WordPress.org if you want.
Keep the content of your site about one and only one subject. Narrow your niche down as small as possible. For example, if you are a watch freak then make your site all about Breitling Watches only. This will keep your keywords very focused and extremely search engine friendly. You will essentially write and display everything about Breitling Watches. The point is to get a serious amount of keyword density so that all the major search engines will see your site and know 100% that your site is a specialist when it comes to Breitling Watches.
Write 30 quality content articles with at least two images or pictures on each article before you go live on the search engines. WordPress will give you the option under “settings” to keep your site private from the search engines until you are ready to go live. Once you have your 30 articles written and all advertising in place then you can change your settings to be search engine friendly. The privacy settings will simply be changing the robot.txt files to disallow the search engines until such time you are ready to allow them.
Use your site keyword when you are linking out to other respectable sites related to Breitling Watches. This will help you to eventually rank for that particular keyword.
Be sure you use a theme that has built in SEO or download a plug-in such as “All In One Seo.”
Try to always use alternative text for your images.
Make the site user friendly and easy to navigate.
When you have your 30 articles complete and all Seo done properly then go ahead and change your settings to bring your site live.
Start immediately commenting on other blogs and sites about Breitling Watches. Make sure to leave a link back to your site with each comment.
Submit your site to the biggest blog directories and search engines.
Submit your feed address to the well know feed directories.
If you have completed all these steps properly, you will be seeing large amounts of traffic within days.
Always maintain your site regularly. Check and repair broken links, continue finding new Seo techniques, write new content for your site often.
Write quality content related to your niche for other well know sites in the top level niche and always link back to your site in the resource box.
Get to know other marketers in your niche.
Partner with the ones you trust.
Maybe Brightling Watches aren’t going to be your niche but you get my point. If you love ice cream and you are an ice cream expert then make your site about one kind of ice cream.
When you keep your keywords narrowed to one or two then you are greatly increasing your success rate. You will enjoy extremely high amounts of free targeted traffic forever.
If you read this article from start to finish, you now know how to get serious website traffic.
Best Wishes!
What Successful Websites Have That Yours Doesn’t
Have you ever spent some time thinking about what successful websites have that your doesn’t? Sure you have! You wouldn’t be reading this article if you weren’t serious about growing your website.
Most people get so wrapped up in all the little tedious components of SEO and building backlinks that they completely forget about the one thing that truly makes a website successful. So what is that one thing? It’s connecting with your visitors of course!
Sometimes we have to slow down and realize that it really is all about the visitors. If you take a serious look at the largely successful websites or brick and mortar businesses for that matter, the one thing they are very good at doing is staying connected with their customers.
It all makes perfect sense if you really think about it. We spend so much time working on our sites that we actually forget to ask our visitors what they want. How can you run a business without knowing what your customers want. It’s pretty much impossible.
Big business makes use of surveys and polls to find out what their customers want or need. You can do the same thing online with services like Poll Daddy or Survey Monkey.
Maybe it will just involve writing a blog post that ask for your visitor’s participation. It doesn’t really matter how you do it as long as you do it. I am guilty just like some of you of being too busy sometimes to actually get to know my visitors but this is a monumental mistake.
Remember…. people don’t like to be sold. They would rather make their own informed decision to purchase something they need or want. How can you offer what they need or want without asking them what those needs or wants are?
If you want to truly have a successful website then go now and get to know your visitors.
Best Wishes!
What is Website Content? Why is It Still King?
Website content is any means of information that is uploaded to a certain domain or website. It doesn’t matter if we’re referring to images, text, audio, links, logos, buttons, charts, etc. The very first time you publish to your website you have content.
Most of you are probably saying I already knew that, however, I’m willing to bet many people who read this article now and in the future will not know what the term “website content” means. We can’t always assume that everybody knows what we know. This is why content is still king with the major search engines and always will be. The big players such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, MSN and all the rest understand that their job is to get their customer an answer. Not only just an answer but the best answer. Their customer’s are all of us typing words and phrases into search boxes on the Internet when we want to find something. I’m not saying that the search engines won’t throw you a curve from time to time but the fundamental principle of searching won’t. When you type a word or phrase in that search box you are expecting to be taken to a page that has multiple listings of quality information that you can use. This is why Google is the biggest most powerful search engine on the planet. It’s because when you tell them you want to find something on the Internet they go and get exactly what you want. Don’t get me wrong. To truly reap the benefits of highly target organic traffic as well as pay per click you still have to do the other necessary evils depending on which nitche your website category is in. Yes I am again discussing one way back links, on page SEO and alt text and such.
Many webmasters have argued different points over the years as far as what really brings in the traffic. Is it back links or is it great content? The true answers are hidden by the likes of Google, Yahoo and the rest. If they let the world know their exact algorithm it would be duplicated quickly and would hurt their positions as the world’s premier search engines.
So the bottom line is this. If you want a website that will break through to the other side of high flowing dedicated traffic then you need to make sure you comply fully. Do the SEO work, use the proper key wording and tags, create plenty of good strong back links and above all make sure you always have viable and usable content. Know that if you are missing any of those items it will not help your website but instead will hinder it.
Hopefully this will help answer some real questions about website content. Think about what your keyword is and tell your user everything they could possibly need to know about that keyword. The search engines will then reward you well for helping them out by sending you more and more visitors.
Understand this article and you will understand why you always hear the term “Content is Still King.”
Blogging for Success!
“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” ……..Herman Cain.
For those of you who have read my articles and previous posts you know and understand I am big on using the words “multiple streams of income”. The reason is because I personally believe that to be very successful online you need to set up multiple ways to get paid. If you are going to make alot of money then you should be experimenting with many different online ideas and concepts. I have listed multiple ways to do that on this website and blog and will continue to list more in the future. Today I want to discuss what I call the “central bank” for your online career. If you really want to make a living from home and earn enough money to make a difference in your life there are 2 main factors that will help you succeed in your quest. First you must create your website and then follow it up and drive traffic by building and promoting your blog.
Build Your Website
- First you need to set up your own website. I have recommended a few methods to use in previous blogs. Look into HostGator Web Hosting and also check out Ken Envoy’s newsletter and his company Site Build It! Both HostGator and Site Build It are miles ahead of their competition in terms of usability and customer service. Try HostGator first to keep the cost down and if you can afford them both then absolutely go for it. You are only increasing your chances of stronger profits. These are both outstanding companies and the best part is they will both pay you very well along the way if you choose.
- Take your time and think of a great domain name. Preferably using a keyword related to your business.
- Think in terms of Business Branding. You want your site and it’s name to be known well!
- Learn as much as possible about and try to find niche products.
- Add great content that is helpful to your visitors and easy on the search engines. (Mostly all typing and copy and paste)
- Make your website “Sticky” – (Great stuff that people keep coming back for….useful…helpful)
- Add secure and safe check out procedures if you have a web store or plan on selling your own product.
- Do not publish too soon!!!!
- Learn about and apply proper use of meta keywords and descriptions for each page on your site.
- Make your website easy to understand and follow.
- Make your site easy to access by all browsers.
- Learn all there is to know about Search Engine Optimization. (Lots of SEO info. on this blog)
- Always test your site before publishing as well as an ongoing basis for broken links and errors.
- Use “Keywords” in your titles on each page.
- Add alternative text to your site’s images so the search engines can read them. Remember search engines only read text.
- Monetize your site by adding Google Adsense. Let Google pay you for your advertising space.
- Add affiliate links if you wish. I actually recommend it even if you are selling your own product on the site. Do not be embarrased to offer affiliate links. Just make sure the ads are related to your site’s content and also make sure they are products that can benefit your visitors. There is nothing wrong with a company charging a fee for a great product. People don’t expect great things to be free. The company should be paid and so should you for allowing them to advertise on your site.
- Write a good “about us” page so your visitors understand and know who you are and what you do.
- Add a privacy policy
- Test some more and when you’re absolutely ready go ahead and publish it to the world.
- Sumit your new website address to all the major Search Engines, Directories…ie…Google, Yahoo, Alta Vista, Bing, Aol, All The Web…etc….etc.
- Start building one way back links to your site. (Very important in gaining new traffic)
- Sign up with Google Analytics to track your progress and your visitors to see what works and what doesn’t.
- Stay on top of it.
- Enjoy what you do.
- Keep success in your mind.
Now Build and Publish Your Blog
- Most good web hosting companies will offer you a blogging platform at no additional charge. I will discuss WordPress.org because it is offered free with the HostGator Baby Croc Package and because WordPress.org in my opinion is the best blogging platform offered today in regards to Usability and Design.
- Sign up for the WordPress.org account.
- Take a day or two to read about WordPress and understand the different functions, plugins, themes, tools, links, profiles, etc which are now at your disposal.
- Choose a usable blog theme. Make it a custom theme if you can afford it.
- Click plugins on the left side of your WordPress control panel and then click add new plugin. In the “add plugin” search box type “All in One SEO” or “Platinum SEO” . Download and activate one of these two plugins. I personally prefer Platinum SEO because it has a few more helpful tools at your disposal in the settings. Take the time to learn how these plug-ins work.
- Decide on a title for your first blog post. Use keywords in your titles and don’t take the title process lightly. A good title can make the difference on small amounts of visitors and huge amounts of visitors.
- Keep the body text between 250 and 650 words.
- Write great content related to your website and useful to your audience.
- Be careful to not write too many sales ads.
- Sprinkle keywords carefully into your article like an hourglass. Maybe one in your title. A few in the opening statement. A few less in the body. A Few more in your closing or summary. Don’t over do it.
- Keep your readers first in your mind. SEO tactics should be second.
- Use Post tags on each article.
- Create links to your website.
- Keep up with all the great plugins to make your life easier
- Learn about and add an Rss Feed.
- Have an opt in email form to build a customer database.
- Add Google Adsense to your blog to gain more money from Google for allowing them to advertise on your site.
- Add affiliate links and advertisement to your blog but make them helpful and useful to your readers and visitors. Think again in terms of niche products.
- Always publish your post only after testing and making sure everything is in place and working order and to your satisfaction. Never hurry!
- Add your blog to social marketing and bookmarking sites…ie…Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Blogger.com, Blogged.com, Technorati..Delicious, Stumble Upon,..etc…etc. Use social book marking and marketing to your advantage website and blogs advantage. There are millions of interested readers out there.
- Like your website the success of your blog requires creating quality one way back links to it as well. Add more back links. Make sure the links are websites which are related to your site’s content with higher Google Page Ranking if possible. This will secure even more traffic and visitors.
- Get a rhythm down. Don’t write too little and don’t write too much. Once a week or so should be sufficient.
- Be aware of Google Page Ranking but don’t get too tied up in it too soon. Good Page ranking also comes with good content unless your niche is very competive in which case it will take longer to rank high and will require more quality back links than other niches.
- Be sincere!
- Be friendly!
- Partner and Network with as many people and businesses you can. Hopefully related to your website and blog content.
- Enjoy yourself! Have a blast. Interact with your visitors!
And the list goes on and on! If I missed a few due to time restraints feel free to add your ideas in the comments. Feel free to link to this page or bookmark it and use it as a reference while you’re working. Remember you will never stop learning. The day you do is the day it’s over with! Perform all the steps listed here and you will be well on your way to a rock solid income to be proud of. You will be blogging for your own success.
Best Wishes!
How To Get Traffic To Your Website
Now that your website is published and up and running it’s time to get people to visit your site. You won’t have any visitors if they don’t know your website exist. I’m going to save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars right now by giving you some very valuable information.
Don’t spend your money with an SEO company to get website traffic if you don’t have to. If you are a large corporation or will have a very large site with thousands of items and pictures then you may want to consider talking with an SEO company as the amount of time it will take you to optimize the website will be ridiculous.
There are many things you can do and should do to gain traffic once you have published. First and foremost, make sure that your website has good content. In other words, be sure that the information, pictures, articles, etc. are all related to what your website is about and make sure that it is valuable information for your visitors to read or use. Without good content there will never be a reason for your visitors to return to your website.
Second and sometimes just as important as the first make sure that your site is easily readable and understandable. People don’t like to have to figure out what you are trying to say nor do they have time. It’s a fast paced world we live in and for most people time is of the essence. Your site should be free flowing and easy to navigate.
Always check for spelling errors and sentence run on’s, etc. These kind of errors will only serve to confuse or aggravate your visitors. Finally make sure your site is search engine optimized with lots of targeted back links! Good SEO and plenty of back links will assure lots of traffic and good rankings with the bigger more well know search engines. What do I mean by that? Well, you need to be sure that there are many one-way links poiting to your website using targeted keywords because major and minor search engines will crawl your website on a regular basis.
Lots of back links means your site is busy and well known. Submit your website to as many search engines and related websites as you possibly can. When they crawl your website they are looking to see if your site is easy to understand and relative to the content you say it is.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can be a little tricky for even the most novice of the web masters. The major web search engines such as Google and Yahoo as well as thousands of others basically get their information from search engine submissions by the website web master which is you.
In your site building tools and setup it should ask you on each page of your website to give a description of that particular page and what it is about. Keep your descriptions simple and to the point. One line sentences if you can. It will also ask for the particular keywords for that page. The keywords that you input will let the search engine crawlers know what that particular page of your website is about. Always name your pages. Don’t let your pages be named page1 or page 5 or anything like that. If one particular page in your site is about cats and dogs then name the page (catsanddogs.php). This is important for trust to be gained by your website visitors. When they click on that page, the title bar on their page should say (catsanddogs.php) not (page1.php).
To sum things up remember, you need good content, easily readable and understandable information, free flowing and easy to navigate links and pages, check spelling errors and sentence run on’s, and finally add lots of back links and optimize your website. If you do all these things on a regular basis you will always have a strong amount of traffic flow to your website. Lots of traffic generally means lots of money or attention or whatever else you are trying to accomplish with your website.
Best Wishes!
