20 Reasons Why Your Product Isn’t Selling
Almost anything of value can be marketed on the Internet. Here is a list of 20 reasons why your product may not be selling.
1. You’re not properly displaying the features and benefits of the product.
2. Product is not being displayed to a targeted visitor. (trying to sell TV’s to somebody in search of shoes)
3. Your product isn’t selling because you have no call to action (not asking for the sale)
4. No business base (no website)
5. No opt-in form (no way to keep visitors and future customers informed)
6. Website shows a lack of professionalism (too many misspelled words, site not user friendly, etc.)
7. Product checkout not secure.
8. Your product isn’t selling because your ad copy is too pushy (people don’t like to be sold…they buy what they need or want)
9. Lack of credibility (you must build trust with your visitors)
10. Sub par product (has no real value to the visitor)
11. Lack of ad copy testing (You haven’t tried multiple ad copies)
12. Lack of Sincerity (Visitor doesn’t feel you are genuine..you don’t care about their needs…just the sale)
13. One of the biggest reasons your product may not be selling is a lack of website traffic, SEO Site Promotion, key-wording, optimization (not enough people viewing your product)
14. Lack of advertising (again…not enough people viewing your product…no product awareness)
15. Product improperly displayed on site ( placed on bottom of page instead of top…no visibility)
16. Price is too high (when compared to similar products)
17. Price is too low (when compared to similar products…visitor perceives product is no good)
18. Product has no distinction (market is flooded)
19. Lack of return policy (shows you have no faith in your product)
20. Many people fail to sell their products because the shipping rate too high for physical products (when compared to industry standards….Customer feels ripped off)
If you can get the first five correct you are already well on your way to success. The rest is all fine tuning.
Please feel free to post your comments if you have something to add to the list.

Using Individual Creativity as a Traffic Generator

Your own individual creativity can generate much traffic to your website. Entrepreneurs and musicians alike share the art of being creative. If you possess this gift you can’t afford to waste it.
Website visitors and surfers respect individual creativity. If you can develop an extremely creative idea for your niche, you can generate thousands of new visitors. In some cases it could be millions!
Think along the lines of a YouTube video or possibly a collage of very powerful pictures that when combined will display a certain theme or idea. Just try to keep it somewhat related to your niche and always have a link to your site. This will help to hold the users attention and nudge them to click the link to visit your site and learn more about you and what it is that you do. If you have done a good job the new visitor will opt in to your email list and you can soon begin marketing your products to them.
Similarly, you should use your creativity inside your website as well. When you are drawing visitors in from another source they need to be able to find some useful content. You want them to be happy they visited and you surely want them to come back again. That’s the whole idea right?
There’s a ton of Web 2.0 sites out there where you can display your creativity and use it to draw your audience in such as Squidoo, YouTube, FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon, and Delicious just to name a few.
Be your own original self with your own original thoughts. Let your individual creativity flow all over the Internet always remembering to add a link to your own domain and you will soon find yourself with more new traffic than you care to count.

Building Your Business One Opt In at a Time
Today I want to talk a little about building your online business by getting one opt in visitor at a time. I’m personally guilty of not following this advice as well or as quickly as I should have. That has all recently changed because I have seen the error of my ways. I think I just got lazy!
You see…many of the bigger online businesses out there just go out and buy a large portion of targeted email addresses or email lists in order to send out affiliate links and advertising to prospective buyers. It is very necessary to have a list of clients to send offers to. You must remember that people come to your website in search of something that can help them or something to buy and sometimes both are the same thing. Regardless, if they found what they wanted for free or purchased it from you, they are likely to come back again because hopefully you delivered the product easily, quickly and with good intent. Now they can feel more comfortable with you. You have built a trusting relationship with your customer. This is the exact reason I prefer to build my customer base one opt in at a time.
Put your opt in form somewhere on your website or blog and give your visitors the opportunity to decide if they want to hear from you again. If they do they will opt in and become your customer for life as long as you continue to treat them well and deliver on time as promised. You now also have the right to send them other information, opportunities or items they may have missed. Give them the opportunity to opt out also. If they’re not happy with what you’re sending them they will opt out. Your job is to make sure that doesn’t happen by consistently delivering quality products or information in a timely manor but just not too often. Nobody likes to be aggravated and nobody likes spam including me. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling information or physical goods. It all works the same way. I suppose buying a list of cold people who are uninformed about your product and you could serve a purpose but I much prefer my visitors know me and I know them.
No matter if you a well known email marketing company or build the mail responder yourself, it is vitally important to your site…. just make sure you do it. If your website is now up and running smooth the very first thing you should do is start building your business one opt in at a time.
Best Wishes!
